Without whining a lot, we've been deluged with distractions the past month or so and though I'm not quite ready to hit the road... we're very close.
Our coach has undergone several changes to help make this next journey a little more comfortable. We added a new LCD HDTV to the bedroom (actually doing that today), had the interior redecorated with new day/night shades and wallpaper. And I also had a rear ladder installed to facilitate the addition of a ham radio antenna (my call is N8FPI). So with a little help from our friends at American RV in Burton Michigan and Coughlin Decorating, also in Burton, we soon will begin our summer travels.
The first leg of the trip will be a 'casino run'. A chance to visit several of this states gaming houses and pit our skill against the best one armed bandits in the land. Michigan and its plethora of Indian tribes, have created the 'perfect storm' of adult entertainment. All the pieces fall together nicely...your Social Security or pension check arrives, all the TV shows are reruns, you've got more than a half a tank of gas in the car... you're bored and need a little excitement and who knows... maybe it will be the day your ship finally comes in.
Anyway we've convinced ourselves, and maybe a few of our friends, that this would be a great way to start off this years travels. So stay with us and follow our journey...
First stop will be the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort, Mt. Pleasant Michigan. We should be arriving around April 29th for a night of frivolity and low-stakes gambling. And to top off the excitement we'll be dry camping for the first time in quite a while. To the non-campers in the audience that means we will not have outside sources of electricity or sewer hookups. We are on our own and at the mercy of the mechanical beast we're calling our home. Hopefully Murphy will stay home.
Still livin' the dream...
Phil & Sharon
