It ain't over... is it?

Say it isn't so. The fat lady hasn't sung has she? Where did all the flowers go? Please tell me it ain't so. Is it really over?
You know...Summer... what you waited for after that long, cold winter... what you hope will never end when you're comfortably ensconced in that lounge chair in the shade... gently sipping on that cool drink and reading your 401 statement from three years ago.

Oh but yes... it's almost over. The cool nights, the faint hint of orange in the tree tops, the 'Closing Soon' sign at the local Dairy Queen ... all speak of what's soon to pass and more ominously... what's soon to come.

As I watched a full moon chase a bright Jupiter across the evening sky the night bats darted amongst the pines seeking out other winged morsels, I glanced at my watch to only discover that it was only a little after 9:00pm and the sun had set and night was upon us. So it all must be true. The coals from the outdoor grill have lost their heat, the flowers of summer are fading fast. Can frozen nose hairs and hot toddies be close at hand?

We think ones life can best be measured not by what material things you've acquired... but by the friends and family that are blended into your day by day journey through time. We remember the many great places we've seen and the many fantastic moments we've experienced not by where we were... but by who we were with. So to all the many friends and family who have made this summer a special one to us ... thank you all.

Still livin' the dream and now trying to figure out where to escape a Michigan cold winter.
